Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated Episode 13 Review

Well, it's Monday night again and we have another new episode of Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, tonight's installment is titled "When The Cicada Calls"; this is a bit of an interesting title, as most episodes in this series have been so far.

By the way, if you are not familar with what a Cicada is, it is a type of large insect if i'm not mistaken and I remember my biology correctly; if you aren't sure about what a Cicada is, go online or to wikipedia and do some research, or just ask Velma(just kidding).

On a bit of another subject, yours truly is currently watching some Scooby Doo DVDs right now, of course since it's the week of Halloween, I am having my annual Scooby Doo weeklong marathon so to speak; usually my tradition(since I started collecting Scooby Doo DVD's) is to watch as much Scooby as possible during this week leading up to Halloween, and so far i've watched three complete episodes, four after the one i'm watching right now.

Believe me, watching Scooby is one of the best shows or movies to watch around Halloween considering what the show's about, even if the ghosts and monsters are fake; after tonight there may or may not be a haitus before more new episodes of SDMI air, so far it looks like there will be a hiatus after tonight, but we shall see.

7:00 PM: Show Time; and how come there's no Warner Brothers logo before the teaser scene anymore?

7:00 PM: Man, that's one ominous voice

7:01 PM: The Destroido Corporation? weird

7:02 PM: Dang, that was a huge bug

7:02 PM: School Days, School Days... whoops, sorry about that

7:02 PM: Is that professor a reincarnation of Ben Ravencroft?

7:03 PM: Velma's at it again; man she's really turning out to be a jerk

7:03 PM: He's a dog, so why is he in the class anyway?

7:04 PM: Is Fred jealous of the teacher? Wow, that's new

7:04 PM: Mr. E can put notes in snack bags? Wish I could do that

7:04 PM: Gelatin with saltines and applesauce? Yuck!

7:05 PM: Fred asked Daphne on a date, and he blew it! Wah, wah, wah

7:06 PM; Man, the sheriff doesn't like bugs does he?

7:06 PM: It's official: Fred's dad is a real jerk***, come on man

7:07 PM: Now he's saying that they have no human decency? He is not a mayor that I would like to have as the mayor of my home town, that's for sure

7:08 PM: That is just nasty beyond all words

7:12 PM: That snack sounds absoutuely disgusting; fish oil and flax? yuck

7:13 PM: Grandma Moonbeam? figures Shaggy and Scooby would like a snack made by somebody named that, especially Shaggy

7:14 PM: Uh oh, he flatlined

7:15 PM: Trapped in the basement, that sucks

7:15 PM: Again, that is one creepy creature

7:15 PM: Fred actually makes sense for once, go figure

7:16 PM: Ooh, Fred's still jealous

7:17 PM: Dr. Yantz is a bit weird, huh?

7:17 PM: WOW! Did he say Girlfriend stealer? Dang, Fred really likes Daphne

7:18 PM: Does the mayor care about anything besides tourism, at all? he might be the real life Greg Nickels

7:18 PM: Cheesecake? who wants cheesecake at a time like this? wonder why they didn't say that in this episode?

7:19 PM: More bugs? Yuck

7:23 PM: The radio station again? cool

7:24 PM: Sounds like Fred and Daphne are a couple again

7:25 PM: Um, okay Fred, does his dad even care about him at all?

7:25 PM: That's funny, Shaggy and Scooby in a haunted house, and they aren't afraid?

7:27 PM: Nicely done Scooby Doo; it was Grandma Moonbeam? Didn't see that coming

7:27 PM: OK, that is disturbing

7:28 PM: Why can't the monster be real? Come on Mayor Jones, be careful for what you wish for

7:28 PM: Fred and Daphne got stuck in a trap? Ha!

Well I have to say other then Velma being a jerk again, I liked tonight's episode; Fred and Daphne are acting like a couple, which is cool and the villain being a bit unexpected, it was a good episode; I have to give it an 8 out of 10 on my scale of rating episodes by the way.

Looks like we'll have a hiatus yet again; if I am posting a new blog review next Monday, check it out, if not, come back when I am posting new blogs, until then see you all later.

Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated Episode 12 Review

Well ladies and gentlemen, or gentleman, i've heard it both ways, welcome to another Monday and another new episode of Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, tonight's installment is titled "The Shrieking Madness".

If you remember last week's episode(and I know you do), we saw a very awkward situation at the end of the episode with Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby all going their seperate ways to go to their respective homes, despite the fact that all of them are supposed to be good friends; we also had Velma saying: "Maybe we're not a team anymore" and her saying: "Good Night Norville" in a very awkward and mean spirited sort of way, oh and Mr. E's henchman/bodyguard/jack of all trades was seen watching the gang from afar and frowning as they all left.

In other words, we were left with plenty of questions after last week, but not enough answers; however thanks to the good people who are Scooby fans from other parts of the country, we know a little bit about tonight's edition of SDMI before it airs on the west coast.

Yes, the rumours are true: the gang has broken up, albeit temporarily; now before you go complaining and not watching tonight's show because the gang has turned into the Beatles and everyone is going solo, that's not going to happen, the gang does stay together and they do manage to solve this week's mystery, but as we have seen, there is tension during the show and a bit of apprehension from all involved about getting back together and solving mysteries again.

A wise man once said: United We Stand and Divided We Fall, which means if a group of people sticks together they can accomplish anything, and if they don't stick together, they will fall; right now I will use my sports expertise and say this: if Scooby and company cannot get everything together, Mr. E will need to appear and we might have a confrontation, same with Washington's football team and the Seahawks, those teams have everyone working together and as a result they both won this weekend.

Can you imagine if the Huskies or the Seahawks offense decided to play and the defense decided not to play? both teams would have gotten beaten by 50 points this past weekend, which is not what happened(thankfully); Mystery Inc. needs teamwork more then ever right now, Velma and Shaggy and Scooby need to drop the whole jealousy thing and work together with Fred and Daphne who need to realize that there are other guys and girls in the world and both need to not be so jealous when the other dates someone new.

If these things happen, Mystery Inc. will be the great detectives that they have been for many years now, and solve the mysteries that are in front of them and put everything in the past, behind them; if they just remember these simple steps, things will be fine, if not... well, at least there's Tower Prep and Unnatural History reruns on Cartoon Network, plus old episodes of Scooby Doo and the past movies.

7:00 PM: Show Time!

7:00 PM: Get out of here! Harlan Ellison? they actually got someone famous... to voice him or herself for this show? New Scooby Doo Movies revivial anyone?

7:01 PM: That creature is scary

7:01 PM: I love the theme song to this show, have I mentioned that? Guess I haven't

7:02 PM: Ah, breakups, who doesn't love them? Wait, ME!

7:02 PM: Nice limo

7:02 PM: The other Blake sisters graduated college, when they were thirteen? WOW!

7:02 PM: Fred's dad knows a lot doesn't he?

7:03 PM: Velma knows Harlan Ellison? Fan fic material, I smell fan fic material

7:03 PM: Shaggy's dad doesn't want him to use his last name?

7:03 PM: Awkward huh? They still aren't friends? COME ON!

7:04 PM: I can't believe I used capital letters three times 5 minutes into the show, this episode is going to be interesting

7:04 PM: Man, they sure pegged the jocks didn't they?

7:05 PM: What was the Blake building again?

7:05 PM: Shaggy and burgers, that combo goes together really nicely huh?

7:06 PM: Shaggy doesn't like Vegan food? I thought he was a vegetarian

7:06 PM: A real person, voicing himself? I LOVE THIS EPISODE! someone please bring back the New Scooby Doo Movies, PLEASE!

7:07 PM: I should read Harlan Ellison's work, heck he appeared on Scooby Doo, so why not

7:07 PM: Cape Cod Dinkley? How did I miss that?

7:07 PM: Hope she didn't hear that

7:08 PM: Well, so far, so.... interesting; Scooby and the gang aren't really speaking to each other, come on guys, get it together

7:09 PM: Quick thanks to everybody who has taken the time to comment on this blog in the past, it really means a lot to me and I greatly appreciate all the comments

7:12 PM: the fraternity guys are still going at it

7:12 PM: The gang reunites, but for how long? *cue ominous music*

7:12 PM: Harlan Ellison really is a jerk isn't he?

7:13 PM: Old Clam Chowder being gargled by a seal? Greatest line of this episode

7:13 PM: Of course the Hatecraft guy lives in a scary mansion, don't all college professors?

7:14 PM: Velma, just... stop, please

7:14 PM: Darrow? I want to know who Darrow is and why their name is on the university

7:15 PM: everything he's writing is coming true? I love that plot, wasn't that used in a Twilight Zone episode or something?

7:15 PM: Another universe, yeah sure

7:15 PM: Do we stay together and keep trying to solve the mystery? And they still can't agree to team up again? Jeez....

7:16 PM: Happy Tapioca? Ooookay....

7:17 PM: Velma, come on, forgive Shaggy already!

7:17 PM: Ernesto? Oookay...

7:18 PM: Professor Hatecraft was spying on them? Is he a Mr. E henchman?

7:18 PM: That was easy, or was it? *cue ominous music*

7:19 PM: Remind me to call these protestors and talk them into going to New York to get the NBA back in Seattle

7:19 PM: Will they finally get back together? Finally?

7:23 PM: Final segment, can the gang work together to stop the monster? Or will they go down in a ring of fire to quote Johnny Cash

7:23 PM: Fred and Daphne seem to be working together nicely... or not

7:24 PM: Velma and Scooby teamed up? will they work things out?

7:24 PM: Ah, the mystery thickens

7:25 PM: Fred always was coloquial wasn't he?

7:25 PM: Gotta love a good old roof top chase; and is the monster going to throw the guy off the roof?

7:26 PM: Narrow escapes for $500 Alex

7:26 PM: His assistant was the monster? I don't know if I would have guessed him

7:27 PM: Harlan and H.P are making up, now let's see Scooby and company make up

7:28 PM: The Mystery Machine's there, cool

7:28 PM: YES! They are back together!

7:28 PM: A letter from Mr. E?

7:29 PM: If the original Mystery Inc. had what was in the trunk, nothing would have happened to them or something like that? and a trunk containing the Entire History of Crystal Cove? The Mystery thickens even more and one mystery has turned into two? Hmm...

Well, let's see: I think on a scale of 10, I would have to rank this episode at an 8, not good, not great; the gang is back together and solving mysteries though and that's a plus, in addition Fred and Daphne seem to be making up and Shaggy, Velma and Scooby, especially Velma and Scooby seem to be going in the right direction, but there is still a long way to go

Guess we'll have to see what happens next Monday; and what's in the trunk? Will it be a major clue to the Curse of Crystal Cove? We shall see, and I shall return next week with another blog and more opinions on Scooby Doo Mystery Inc.

Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated Episode 11 Review

Well, here we are, another week has passed and it's time once again for another new episode of Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, this week entitled The Secret Serum; from looking at the previews of this episode and reading people's reviews, it looks like this should be another great episode.

Apparently Daphne's mom is supposed to be a supsect in the mystery this week, which could make for an interesting investigation; if you remember last week, Shaggy and Velma broke up(temporarily in my opinion) and things became a little tension filled in the group, this seems good on the surface, but this week's episode could tell a lot about the rest of the series and if the gang can solve the curse of Crystal Cove.

And as if a new Mystery Inc episode wasn't awesome enough, Scooby Doo Halloween was on before the new episode as well.

7:00 PM: Show Time!

7 PM: Ah, the charity auction; Daphne's Mom's back? cool

7 PM: Was that Mama Cass in the audience? Monday, Monday indeed

7:01 PM: Wait, where's Daphne's mom? Oh wait, there she is

7:01 PM: Why would a vampire want a painting? Especially one of a vampire... hmm

7:02 PM: Blake Manor, you know I use that as the gang's headquarters for my stories

7:02 PM: Wait, I thought Shaggy and Velma were broken up?

7:03 PM: Pardon the pun, but Ha! Burned

7:03 PM: Jeez, already we're having problems between Shaggy and Velma? and the guys go one place and the girls go another place, uh oh

7:04 PM: Shaggy, you are a dunce; sitting shotgun is cool? I guess...

7:05 PM: Velma and Daphne having a girl talk, cool

7:05 PM: Hang on, I thought Daphne's mom didn't like going out in the dark; and the Quackers? Very funny

7:06 PM: A punch box? Jeez louise Fred

7:06 PM: She hates anything she doesn't have to pay for? What?

7:07 PM: Fred, you're answer to everything is a Freaking trap

7:08 PM: Frequent Trappers Club? I love it

7:09 PM: Wait, Daphne is in the green house and so is Velma? Uh oh, I don't like this one bit

7:09 PM: yep, they got Daph and Velma, way to go Fred, you are an idiot

7:09 PM: Nice recovery Shaggy, very nice

7:13 PM: Whoops, there goes Daphne

7:14 PM: Prickers?

7:14 PM: A painting and an orchid Huh?

7:15 PM: Velma's mom again, cool; Skull Island? Ooh... creepy

7:15 PM: The Broken Spine? Great name

7:15 PM: Does that place really have a section for spell books?

7:15 PM: Was that Mr. E again?

7:16 PM: Countess Hagula's Youth Juice? So someone wants to stay young, hmm...

7:16 PM: Dr. Calamari's? Ha!

7:17 PM: Wine mentioned on Scooby Doo? Really?

7:17 PM: Bad French accent time, oh brother...

7:18 PM: Oui Oui? Bathroom? HA!

7:18 PM: Daphne's mom eating with Sheila? Hmm... that Sheila lady is suspicious

7:19 PM: Maybe we're not a team anymore? Don't Say that Velma!

7:19 PM: I think the gang better get their act together and soon

7:20 PM: Hmm... this is not good at all, I have a bad feeling the gang is going to have a breakup soon, writers, please for Scooby fans everywhere MAKE SURE THE GANG DOES NOT BREAKUP!!! because then we would have possibly a second Scrappy era, and I think everyone remembers that

7:24 PM: The Devil's Eye? Great Name for a jewel

7:24 PM: Darrow University? Cool name

7:25 PM: Well, that didn't work did it?

7:26 PM: Ghoul Friend? HA! Great wordplay

7:26 PM: Stake? That's funny

7:27 PM: Sheila, gee what a surprise! Not really

7:27 PM: Daphne's Mom's back again; and she's not a vampire, darn, that would make for an interesting rest of the series

7:28 PM: a Notary? Very nice Daphne's Mom, very nice; and she doesn't know what it is, jeez

7:29 PM: Where is everybody going?

7:29 PM: Good night Norville?

7:29 PM: The guy from the Alice May episode and he frowned?

7:29 PM: I'm getting a live action Scooby movie flashback now... wait NO! They can't split up!

Wow, great episode! And A possible breakup in the midst for Mystery Inc.? If Mr. E really doesn't want history to repeat itself, he really needs to get his butt in gear and KEEP THE GANG TOGETHER

Needless to say this will be a very very nervous week for all Scooby fans; I rate this episode at a 9, great tension, great villain idea with a vampire, and Daphne's mom suspected? Sounds like a winner to me, although the female vampire idea reminds me of that San Francisco Scooby and Scrappy episode, but this time Daphne's mom was the suspect and not Daphne

See everyone next week, and keep your fingers crossed Scooby fans that the gang doesn't break up for good

Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated Episode 10 Review

Well, it's been several weeks, and the NFL and College Football seasons are a few more weeks underway, the Major League Baseball season has ended, Scooby Doo Camp Scare came out on DVD, and the new live action Scooby movie will air on October 16th at 7 PM.

Oh, and tonight is the return of new episodes of Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, and tonight's episode is called "Howl Of the Fright Hound", and needless to say after the show's All Star/Mid Season Break, this will be an interesting way to resume the series, as it looks like Scooby Doo himself is going to jail, yes Scooby Doo in jail, an occurance that doesn't sound good at all.

Again, this will be a random live blog, with my comments throughout regarding tonight's episode, by the way, when I post this the episode will have aired on the west coast, so everybody will have seen it(except for Alaska and Hawaii) by now.

Yes ladies and gentlemen it has happened, Shaggy and Velma have broken up, at least for now; i'm a bit dissapointed by this development as it is a fairly significant development in fans of the Shaggy/Velma pairing.

While the two of them have broken up and I am dissapointed, this is nowhere near the end of Shaggy/Velma; the thing about this pairing is that the breakup is sort of a blessing in disguise, Velma and Shaggy will get a chance to date other people, but as usual things will not work out with each person and their respective new people in their lives, which means Shaggy and Velma will eventually drift back to each other and the two of them will start dating again and this time, and like the song, love will be found the second time around.

In addition, Shaggy will finally get the nerve to tell Scooby Doo what's going on with he and Velma, and will not wait so long, like the first time they dated, and Shaggy will not, make the same mistakes twice.

Scooby being arrested is very interesting indeed, there was a 1983 episode of the All New Scooby and Scrappy Doo show called Hound of the Scoobyvilles, in which Scooby was accused of being the villain just like in this episode, of course that had the gang proving Scooby wasn't the villain and it was also an homage to the Sherlock Holmes story "Hound of the Baskervilles" which is one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous Holmes stories.

That scene with Professor Pericles, for once I am speechless; WOW! that was one of the best and scariest scenes in a Scooby Doo episode or movie in a long time, and believe me, it's another reason why this is one of the best Scooby series in quite some time.

Speaking of that scene, if you were around to remember the original run of Scooby Doo on CBS(I of course wasn't), Scooby Doo was originally supposed to be pretty scary and frightening, but because CBS thought the show would be too frightening Hanna and Barbera repitched the show and eventually rechristened the show Scooby Doo Where Are You; that scene with Professor Pericles makes the original Scooby show look like chaild's play.

The Mayo in a Shaggy-Scooby sandwich? Funny, very funny

Is it just me or does this geeky guy remind you a lot of Gibby Norton?

Wow, Shaggy stood up for Velma? Nice

Velma's mom makes a reappearance and a Wax Phantom reference? Double cool and doubly awesome

That robot spider or whatever that was, very creepy

Scooby getting handcuffed? Say it aint so

Wait, if Scooby is a dog, then why is he getting arrested by the police? Shouldn't he go to animal control?

No Scooby Doo in the Mystery Machine is a little weird, kind of unusual

Velma Delma Doo? Oookay

Velma still seems bossy, hmm...

Crystal Cove has an animal asylum? Is this the first place that has something like that? It might be

Whoa! Crazy Monkey

These animals seem, I don't know, creepy, weird and well, not much to say there

NO WAY! We get to see Professor Pericles! And he looks strange, and he speaks! Makes sense

How did the Parrot do that?

Dude, this parrot might not be Mr. E, but he's psycho!

Beware of those closest to you? Especially you Frederick? Uh oh, I don't like the sound of this

Jason? Umm... that sounds familar; and he's obsessed! I mean literally obsessed, he's nuts

So... she's saying that he built the dog to break up Mystery Inc.? Um... couldn't Velma have done the same thing? Just saying

That robotic dog is creepy; he really looks creepy

Oh yeah, the guards at the Asylum actually using real Guns? WOW; oh, and that dog still looks creepy, especially without his disguise

Shaggy and Scooby Doo look like they're friends again, awwwww

Jeez Velma, even in a crisis you still want him to decide!

Way to go Scooby Doo!!!! Time to Heel? Brilliant line

Ouch, that robot dog is going to the scrap heap; oh and Fred should stop his jokes, now

Play Dead? Scooby's getting pretty hard core, I like it

Man, that Jason's Mom is psycho! Seriously, she is nuts

Uh oh, Velma's not happy at all

Was that Yogi Bear?

The Parrot escaped? Uh oh, no good can come of this

A preview of next week? Awesome, and my favorite line of that promo: "We have to go use the bathroom, oui oui", very nice

Well, our first new Scooby Doo Mystery Inc episode in a few weeks; I loved Shaggy standing up for Velma, but her reaction to them breaking up? not good at all, I think it's going to take a while for her to get over this, but she will; and then once the end of the season comes they'll be back together and Scooby will be fine with it.

As for my grade: I am going to give this one an 8.5, not exceptional, but still very good; looking forward to next week where apparently the gang tackles a vampire, see you then.

Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. Episode 9 Review

Well, here we are: Monday Night and it's time once again for a new Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated episode, this weeks installment is titled "Battle of the Humonganauts"(and no I am not making that title up).

Tonight's episode looks so far(judging by the reviews from people on message boards in other time zones) to be a pretty good episode; it is also the last new episode it looks like before the show takes a hiatus for possibly a month(i'm not certain on when there will be another new episode after tonight, but rest assured I will be back with another review/live blog when the show resumes new episodes.

Once again, it will be random comments throughout the episode as my blogs usually are; now, this being sort of the all star break or halftime(to use sports terms) for the new Scooby Doo series, it gives me a chance to do what the sports media does at halftime or the all star break and that's to review the season to this point.

So far through eight(after tonight nine episodes) has been what I was expecting since I first read about the show online; the writing is well done, the animation is decent and the romance is a nice bonus for the show.

As for the various subjects and questions that still need to be resolved:

Mr. E: Right now i'm still going with either Fred's mom or Angel Dynamite as being either related to Mr. E or Mr E. himself; some people have suggested Professor Pericles as being Mr. E, and I think that's possible as well, but right now my predictions are: Fred's mom or Angel Dynamite is Mr. E

The Curse of Crystal Cove/The Original Mystery Inc-Missing Kids: Is there really a curse? and does this have to do with the missing kids(AKA the original Mystery Inc.)? Only time will tell for that one, but I think something did happen to the kids and it does have something to do with the curse; some have suggested that maybe there's a cover up with the town's adults, that could be possible as well; some have even suggested that one of the members of the original Mystery Inc. did something to cause the gang to break up, which I think is possible as well

Velma & Shaggy: I think this relationship will succeed and Shaggy will eventually tell Scooby about him and Velma and of course Scooby will happy; I mean Shaggy and Scooby can't stay mad at each other forever right?

Fred and Daphne: The two of them are in an interesting relationship and I think it will work out between them, they just have to realize that they were meant to be together and get their issues straightened out.

Overall, I'm looking forward to the rest of the season and it looks to be a great rest of the series, when the show resumes new episodes, probbaly int the next month if I had to guess

7 PM: Show Time!

7 PM: What? No Warner Brothers Animation Logo?

7 PM: Hmm... interesting; and the Don Knotts guy is back? nice!

7 PM: Is everybody in town except for the gang at this nightclub?

7:01 PM: How quiet it's been? What are you stupid or something sheriff?

7:03 PM: Shaggy and Velma kissing? Yes, I love it!

7:03 PM: Cheating? Here we go again with Scooby and cheating, come on Scooby Doo open your eyes!

7:04 PM: Ooh, showdown time

7:04 PM: Shaggy, you really are a chicken aren't you?

7:04 PM: Could Shaggy please tell Scooby Doo what's going on and soon!

7:05 PM: Choke on it? jeez louise Scooby, harsh much?

7:05 PM: Well I know who the crook is, end of story, end of blog, bye for now; or not

7:06 PM: Ding-Dang Beasties? Sheriff, you are dumb, i'll say it before and i'll say it again, you are dumb

7:10 PM: My folks think this new Scooby show is weird; well, some people do and some people don't, frankly I like it and it's much better then the drek that was Shaggy and Scooby Doo Get A Clue

7:10 PM: Angel Dynamite's back, again

7:10 PM: Wait a minute, does this Max Minner insurance company advertise on everything in the TOWN?

7:11 PM: Pow wow? Sitting Bull and Geronimo would be very jealous

7:11 PM: Angel Dynamite is a great character, seriously she's awesome

7:12 PM: Sheriff Stone as a counselor? Oookay

7:12 PM: Hmm... Sheriff Stone had a very interesting comment: if you weren't my boss' son I wouldn't hesitate to make you disappear forever? Yeah, right

7:13 PM: Velma or Scooby? Wow! This is getting really good! Seriously it's getting really good! I mean Velma gave him an ulitmatum? She really wants him to make a decision

7:13 PM: Team uniforms? I am liking this more and more every second

7:14 PM: This guy seems to be everywhere doesn't he? Of course he does work in construction

7:15 PM: No eye contact? Okay, that's kind of weird

7:16 PM: Nice save Fred

7:16 PM: WOW! Lot of action in this episode huh?

7:20 PM: Uh oh, possessed radio and Mr. E's back

7:21 PM: Mr. E. seems to leave a lot of cryptic clues doesn't he?

7:22 PM:My official portrait? I officially like the Mayor of Crystal Cove, he seems to be just like Mayor Adam West from Family Guy, basically they're the same person, I think

7:23 PM: The Stomper? Oookay, why would they name something like that?

7:25 PM: Um, what did Fred say? something about pigeons right?

7:25 PM: Now the two monsters are fighting each other? I'm confused; oh and go Boise State by the way

7:26 PM: That went well, the trap I mean

7:26 PM: Fred's dad actually complimented him? cool

7:27 PM: The insurance agents? Um, I guess I was expecting that, I mean I don't know if it's predictable but it's interesting

7:28 PM: They kind of seem to be working like a team I guess; although Shaggy and Scooby are still at each other's throats

7:29 PM: Shaggy, you chicken! He was that close to telling both of them!

Well, we're at the sort of all star break for Scooby Doo as I mentioned above; for this episode I have to give it an 7.5, good stuff with the Shaggy/Velma/Scooby triangle, Mr. E clue and the Sheriff was hillarious as usual, the brothers as villains were good too, not much of that in Scooby Doo

It's now the kinda sorta All-Star Break/Half Way point of SDMI and so far things seem to be going well; but there are more questions to be answered and more mysteries solved in the future, and that will take place when Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. returns with new episodes, probably in October.

By the way, I want to take this opprtunity to thank all the people who have read and commented on this blog so far since Scooby Doo Mystery Inc started; I really enjoy your comments and I try and read them all. thanks everybody and i'll see you all when Scooby Doo comes back from his break, see you then

Oh and i'll still be doing some college football and NFL blogs, so stay tuned

Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. Episode 8 Review

Well here it is Monday Night and time for another Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated episode and time for another live blog too; tonight's edition is titled "The Grasp of the Gnome"(seriously that's the title); as I understand it after this week, Scooby Doo Mystery Inc has one new episode, and then goes into reruns, which means these live blogs will go into hiatus.

But I will return with new live blogs, when Scooby Doo Mystery Inc returns with new episodes; also I will be doing a live blog for the new Scooby live action movie Curse of the Lake Monster and I will try to do one for Scooby Doo Camp Scare as well(the new direct to video movie).

As always the live blog will be random comments throughout, so enjoy:

7:00 PM: Show Time!

7:00 PM: hey Jreb from the Velma yahoo group might like this episode, the gang's at a renessiance fair

7:01 PM: Why do people dress like pirates at a renessiance fair?

7:01 PM: Ooh, Scary Gnome; yeah, that's a Scooby Doo villain all right, wait, that's really stupid

7:02 PM: Go hang out at a seafood restaurant? Um, are there any seafood restaurants open?

7:03 PM: Geez Velma, get with the program

7:03 PM: Oh, no; please don't tell me Fred is going to go back to a geeky trap guy again; please!

7:03 PM: I'll say it again: Scary Gnomes? yeah, sure

7:04 PM: Daphne is wearing a nice outfit, and Fred doesn't notice it; well, that whole paying attention to Daphne thing didn't last long

7:04 PM: Velma seems really knowlegeable about the supernatural huh?

7:05 PM: Nothing like good moat? HA!

7:05 PM: Velma's mom has good advice; I wish she was my mom, she sounds like the type of person that would know about love

7:06 PM: A drink made of poison mushrooms and wormwood? was Velma's mom a teacher at Grimwood? Just saying

7:11 PM: Funny, these gnomes don't look friendly

7:11 PM: Wait, Fred's dad agrees with him? Um, maybe not

7:12 PM: Fairy Wrestling? Please don't let this become another Goblin King

7:12 PM: I love Shaggy's pirate outfit; cute parrot

7:13 PM: Out of room at the hospital? How?

7:13 PM: Why would they be drinking sodas, on duty no less

7:13 PM: I already saw the movie, believe me frozen with magic is the perfect way to watch it? Okay

7:14 PM: I know how he feels? Wow Velma

7:14 PM: Daphne and Velma having a talk? interesting

7:15 PM: Wait, Fred did something or said something smart? Since when?

7:16 PM: That guy's a bit jealous isn't he?

7:16 PM: A secret pirate? I thought that guy hated pirates?

7:17 PM: My brain needs a shower? very funny

7:17 PM: Shaggy got knocked out cold, and the gnome's advancing? uh oh; something tells me Velma might have to rescue him

7:19 PM: Watching a little celebrity bowling from the 70's on ESPN Classic in between breaks; oddly enough this show is actually entertaining, oh and George Foreman's participating; at least he's a better bowler then Joe Frazier was a swimmer if you know what I mean

7:21 PM: Scooby's really depressed huh?

7:21 PM: Scooby ripped Shaggy's parrot while Velma was holding it? wow, he's really ticked, or is he? And Velma actually said she actually misses him? Ah, she admits she cares

7:22 PM: Mr. E's back, YES!

7:23 PM: Danger Prone Daphne's back, nice

7:23 PM: Tree expressway? Scary highway? that's funny

7:24 PM: Scooby's the bait? Ah, now this is classic Scooby!

7:24 PM: Man that gnome's like an olympic gymnast

7:25 PM: Shaggy's tied up and gagged? that's a switch, usually it's Daphne

7:25 PM: Daphne getting steel bracelets was pretty smart

7:26 PM: The Court fool did it? WOW! Although I could kind of guess that he was the culprit

7:27 PM: A ha! the tiny feet thing was a major suprise

7:27 PM: Baby Legs? that's funny too

7:27 PM: I love how that lady kept bopping the court fool on the head

7:28 PM: Hmm... who was that guy with the hood and cape, or whatever that was? and what's with that note? and professor pericles was circled? and this has all happened before?

Well, let's see; the main plot was okay, but the Mr. E Clues are what made this episode; I wonder who that guy with the hood was, and why was professor pericles circled in the Mystery Incorporated picture? and why did Mr. E say don't give up, this happened before

I guess we'll have to wait until next week to find out more; the Fraphne moments were good, and it really looks like Fred still cares for Daphne, although the Shelma thing is still shaky, Velma did tell Fred and Daphne about her and Shaggy, and Scooby was still growling at her, but overall Fred and Daphne seem to understand, although Scooby's still on the fence

The one thing that is interesting to me about this episode is Fred's comments about Shaggy and Velma's relationship; it's good advice, but I hope Velma doesn't take the advice too seriously, I mean I would still like it to work out, but who knows at this point

As for a rating: I would go with 7 out of 10; the culprit was a little too easy to figure out and the villain was kind of dumb, but it was a decent episode, back next week for another live blog and review and then a bit of a hiatus until the next new Scooby Doo episode.

Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated Episode 7 Review

Well, here it is Monday Night and time for another installment of Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated; this week’s episode is titled “In Fear Of The Phantom” and it features a guest appearance by those girl rockers from Oak Haven: the one and only Hex Girls(I was using kind of a disc jockey voice there, I always wanted to be one and I guess I got carried away)

Anyways, this will be another sort of live blog(the internet connection at the resort I’m staying at isn’t really that great so what I will do is write my review during the show and post it after it’s over); it will basically be random comments and observations and I hope everyone enjoys it.

7:00 PM: Show Time!

7:00 PM: YES! The Hex Girls are back, and they can still rock!

7:01 PM: Ah, this must be the Phantom

7:01 PM: Velma acting like a fan girl is pretty funny

7:02 PM: Interesting beginning and Scooby’s still mad at Shaggy, oh boy

7:03 PM: Daphne singing? It works, it really works

7:04 PM: Why does the band manager look like Alexander Cabot from Josie and the Pussycats?

7:04 PM: Daphne’s the bait? That’s a first

7:05 PM: Daphne does look the part of a Hex Girl doesn’t she?

7:06 PM: Daphne got kidnapped? Of course she did; and what’s up with Fred? Is he going to really admit that he loves Daphne?

7:09 PM: I really don’t like commercials, of course I say that all the time

7:10 PM: The sheriff is at it again, he really is pretty dumb isn’t he? Of course what would you expect from Patrick Warburton aka Joe from Family Guy

7:11 PM: “Why must I feel?”, um Fred, all guys have feelings and yours are just coming out

7:11 PM: Shaggy and Scooby are at each other’s throats, sort of

7:12 PM: Again with the trap? Fred, my friend, stop obsessing with the traps!

7:13 PM: Here we go with Fred’s dad again

7:13 PM: Daphne’s back, and she isn’t happy with Fred

7:13 PM: Is Daphne now a diva? WOW!

7:13 PM: Scooby doing ventriloquism? Weird

7:14 PM: Daphne’s getting a makeover? Wait, does she need one?

7:14 PM: Is Fred going to sing? Nope, but he does have feelings for Daphne

7:15 PM: Crush? Great Rock Star Name Daphne

7:15 PM: WOW! Daphne was just a bit harsh wasn’t she?

7:16 PM: Hey Vincent Van Ghoul’s back and he’s a monster? Maurice LaMarche is still a great Vincent Van Ghoul though

7:16 PM: Is Shaggy fighting with a dummy?

7:17 PM: Shaggy and Scooby find the villain? Old School Scooby Doo at it’s finest

7:20 PM: Ah, a good old fashioned “Villain tries to look everywhere to find Shaggy and Scooby but can’t” scene, love that

7:21 PM: WOW! The bus blew up only a few moments after Shaggy and Scooby got out, now that’s real drama

7:22 PM: Wow moment of the week: did Shaggy and Scooby actually find a clue?

7:22 PM: Man, Shaggy and Scooby are really becoming good detectives, wait they already were, never mind

7:24 PM: Daphne a song writer? Hmm… This has possibilities

7:24 PM: Oh yeah, did I mentioned Daphne can sing? And that Grey DeLisle has a great singing voice, I guess I didn’t, or did I?

7:25 PM: Fred? Earth to Fred, she wrote the song about you! Say something!

7:26 PM: I really like Daphne’s cape, or whatever that is

7:26 PM: Wait, the phantom waited until after the song to make his move?

7:27 PM: I knew it was him! I knew it was Daniel, or whatever his name is

7:27 PM: They can make any song a hit? Kind of like the Beatles huh?

7:28 PM: Ah, Fred finally tells Daphne how he feels about her, aww how sweet

7:28 PM: Shaggy and Scooby are friends again, sounds good to me

7:29 PM: Wait, what was Velma doing waiting for Shaggy and Scooby by the Mystery Machine?

Well, another episode down and another mystery solved; although this one was more Fred/Daphne centric and didn’t have much Shaggy/Velma, but it was still good; and Fred finally told Daphne how he felt about her.

Overall I liked the episode and it felt like a classic Scooby Doo episode, I give this week’s show a 9 ½ out of 10, close to a 10 but I held back a little; I didn’t give it a 10 because Shaggy and Scooby did most of the mystery solving which made the episode seem like a Scooby and Scrappy show from 1980-1982, anyways I’ll be back next week in the Evergreen State with another blog/review, bye until then

Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. Episode 6 Review

Well, it's Monday night again and that means a new episode of Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, this week's installment is titled "The Legend of Alice May" and judging by people's message board posts who have seen the episode on the east coast, this might be the first episode of the season to get a 10 in my rating system.

6:57 PM: This might be one of the top episodes of this series, judging by the reviews from other people

7:00 PM: Show Time!

7:00 PM: Alice May's first appearance; she doesn't look that bad, for now

7:01 PM: Never mind

7:02 PM: Vincent Van Ghoul? YES! YES! YES! he looks just like he was in the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo, and whoever's voicing him is awesome!

7:03 PM: Velma and Shaggy have been going out FOR A MONTH? and people are complaining? Jeez

7:03 PM: Uh oh, Alice May's back

7:04 PM: The gang's going to the prom; so this is character development, I like it

7:04 PM: Oh no he didn't? Daphne, this is not 1998 you know

7:05 PM: Daphne's got competition, oh boy, this could be interesting

7:05 PM: Nicely done Daphne! Fred is clueless isn't he?

7:06 PM: Someone erased everything about the missing kids? hmm, interesting

7:07 PM: So someone was trying to waste Daphne? hmm...

7:07 PM: Alice may's back; jeez she gets around doesn't she?

7:08 PM: Why would alice be going into the basement?

7:08 PM: Full length promo for the new live action movie? YES!

7:12 PM: Here are words I thought I would never say: I agree with Daphne

7:13 PM: Ahh, so Fred's not the first person this girl has fallen for, hmm...

7:13 PM: Please don't tell me she lives at a cemetery

7:13 PM: Velma's really demanding isn't she?

7:14 PM: Velma kicking tombstones? wow!

7:14 PM: Daphne and Scooby are hunting for clues together? reminds me of that one New Scooby movies episode

7:15 PM: Man that girl is creepy; I am loving the writers

7:16 PM: Mr. Carswell? the creeper? love the flashbacks and it's offical: this show is canon with the original show! YES! YES! YES! I LOVE THIS!

7:17 PM: I think this show might be the first 10 of the series, wait's it's official i'm getting the word: yes this is the first 1o rating I am giving for this show, it reminds me of classic Scooby Doo at it's finest

7:18 PM: What happened to the baby chick in the creeper flashback? and I loved the way the animators drew the original episode

7:18 PM: So, where's the promo for the new episode? wait it's probably coming up at the end

7:20 PM: Velma's prom dress is pretty cute

7:21 PM: Fred getting caught in a trap while he dresses for the prom is funny

7:21 PM: Daphne's prom dress is cute too

7:21 PM: What is wrong with Daphne's sister? WOW!

7:21 PM: Hmm... Shaggy sneaking around Scooby's back to go to the prom? no good can come of this

7:22 PM: Phantom limousine, wait that doesn't look that ghostly

7:22 PM: She just doesn't give up does she

7:23 PM: Uh oh, come on Shaggy tell Scooby about Velma please! for the love of all things good, tell him!

7:24 PM: Are they all rich? they all have limousines?

7:24 PM: Scooby at the prom? ha ha ha

7:25 PM: Let me check, yep alice may's still scary

7:25 PM: Ha! somebody's mom, now that was funny

7:25 PM: Ah, the mystery thickens

7:25 PM: Of course she's not a ghost, but if she's not a ghost, then who is she?

7:26 PM: Alice Carswell? WHAT! her dad? WOW! that is messed up!

7:27 PM: So she was trying to get revenge?

7:27 PM: Boy is scooby mad

7:27 PM: A yearbook? hmm.. another clue

7:28 PM: Mystery Incorporated? the high school had a mystery solvers club?

7:28 PM: Hmm... she got out of prison? and Mr. E? this is getting interesting

7:29 PM: Disappearance of 4 youths? a mystery who's time has come to solved? Hmm...

7:30 PM: Love the new promo for the hex girls episode, of course i'll be out of town next week but I will catch this episode

Well, let's see: flashback to the creeper, a ghost girl, Scooby annoyed at Shaggy for him going to the prom with Velma, a connection between alice may and Mr. E, the high school had a mystery solvers club before, all in all A GREAT EPISODE!

More clues were revealed about Mr. E, and the people in the locket are without a doubt members of the mystery club, heck they even explained it! I am giving this episode a 10 out of 10 for all the reasons I mentioned and I am so looking forward to next week's show and the rest of the season.

I will do a review of next week's show, but it might be a bit late because i will be on vacation next week, now until next week: so long!

Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. Episode 5 Review

Well, it's Friday Morning and I will be doing a somewhat live blog for this week's Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated episode "The Song of Mystery"; I missed the episode on Monday as I explained earlier this week so this is the first time I will get to watch it, from what everybody said it looks good though.

First for some pre-show comments I have to address the whole Shaggy/Velma thing; in my browsing the message boards and reading the reviews people have of this weeks episode, people are not liking that Velma is trying to get Shaggy to stop saying like much like she tried to stop him from eating junk food on last week's show; I think Shaggy realizes Velma loves him and because of that is trying to change him into her version of a good boyfriend, however to those people who think that the relationship can't work or won't work because she's trying to change him too much or whatever, that's utter garbage.

Velma is realizing that she cannot change Shaggy and that he's going to be himself; I think that Velma is starting to realize that she loves him because of him being himself, not because of other reasons; Shaggy is going to be cowardly, going to be hungry and wants to hang out with Scooby Doo, and Velma is slowly but surely starting to realize this, why else would she have hung out around him and the rest of the gang over the years if she didn't like what Shaggy does or says?

I know that Shaggy/Velma can work, the fans just have to give it time; besides would you rather have this show on the air, or another season of Get A Clue, without Fred, Daphne and Velma and a format that belongs more in a show like Johnny Quest then Scooby Doo; I would take SDMI a thousand times over.

I also have to address the whole "misrepresnting the characters" thing; I have seen that this show treats the gang not as a kind group of young adults helping people, but instead they have an attitude where they aren't concerned with school and want to solve mysteries instead of being in class; I have to disagree with that as well, Scooby Doo has always been a show about four teenagers and a dog solving mysteries in the spare time, keeping in mind the spare time part; in my mind the gang in this show kind of likes school, but wants to work on their hobbies instead of going to class, which is what many teens wanted to do at that age, however Scooby's friends realize that they need an education and the mysteries are taking a back seat for now, so all those people who say the gang doesn't care about school and care more about solving mysteries, I have to disagree with those statements.

Overall Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. is a great version of a franchise that has been around since 1969 and needs new life pumped into it every so often, i.e. Scrappy, 13 Ghosts, etc.; if the things I mentioned hadn't been created for Scooby, the show would have ended long ago and we wouldn't have gotten all the great movies and shows that we have gotten in the franchise; that's just my thoughts and you can take them for what they are, now onto this week's episode:

8:59 AM: Unnatural History promo's airing, I do agree that Scooby Doo could be a little like

9:00 AM: Daphne's baby sitting? interesting; also was that the voice of Spongebob?

9:01 AM: Hmm, looks like an interesting mystery this week

9:02 AM: One Minute he's kind and the next he's trying to kill Daphne? Sounds like a Mini Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

9:03 AM; Velma punched Shaggy in the shoulder for saying like? Oookay

9:04 AM: Well, we know where the parents and adults priorities are in this town; they're leaving their kids behind after turning into monsters

9:05 AM: The gang got arrested again? Jeez!

9:05 AM: So the guy plays a pan flute and turns all the kids into monsters? sounds like a weird version of the Pied Piper

9:06 AM: Fred's flunking civics? who knew?

9:06 AM: Hmm, this teacher has a picture of the creature? very suspicious

9:07 AM: Velma wants to get Shaggy new pants? why?

9:10 AM: Reading more people's reviews of the show during commercial break, so far it's about 50/50 on like and dislike in the show

9:11 AM: Holy Cow, what is Shaggy wearing? those are the most butt ugly pants i've ever seen

9:11 AM: Velma's parents are at it again

9:13 AM: Que Horrifico definitely reminds me of like a Werewolf with the way he changes every night

9:14 AM: Why is the teacher going home to rest? it's a school day

9:14 AM: Jeez this Mary Anne girl is really getting on my nerves

9:15 AM: This chain thing reminds me of the 50 foot Shaggy episode of WNSD a few years back

9:16 AM: Jeez Cartoon Network, how low can you go? spoofing another network's most popular show

9:16 AM: Is it just me, or was the professor being very dramatic

9:21 AM: The kids have taken over? sounds like Children of the Corn

9:22 AM: Shaggy and Scooby as babies? hillarious

9:23 AM: Don't sound so happy, we're married; that's pretty funny too, and Daphne and Fred dressed like a married couple is hillarious

9:24 AM: They caught him, or did they?

9:24 AM: Hmm, the villain sounds a little familar

9:25 AM: Stop hitting yourself Fred, stop hitting yourself Fred, stop hitting yourself Fred :)

9:25 AM: Bye bye t shirt

9:26 AM: Man, the writers are really good on this show; this is terrifying

9:26 AM: The kids are wearing masks? I figured as much

9:26 AM: Mary Anne? Who Knew?

9:27 AM: She wanted to rule the city with an army of kids? Yeeah, that's a great plan(no, it isn't)

9:27 AM: she offered them candy, yeah

9:28 AM: Velma couldn't translate a Latin Phrase? wow

9:28 AM: No clue from Mr. E? Really?

9:29 AM: Shaggy standing up for himself? Yes! oh and the dancing scene with him and Velma, very sweet(and that's coming from a guy)

Well that takes care of another episode of Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, sorry I couldn't do a live blog this week, but i'll return next week with another one

Oh as for the grade: I give the episode a 7, good monster, great chase scenes and the whole kids putting on fangs thing reminded me of the way Lisa in the Scooby Doo Show episode Vampires, Bats and Scaredy Cats was hypnotized; she was hypnotized by a watch alarm from her uncle leon, which was a cue to put fake fangs in her mouth and act hypnotized

I also loved the Shaggy and Velma parts, and Shaggy standing up for himself and dancing with Velma was nice too; looking forward to Monday and another new episode, until then so long

Scooby Doo Mystery Inc Episode 4 Review

Well here we are again: Monday night and another live blog for the latest Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated episode "The Revenge of the Man Crab"(by the way, I know what you're thinking and yes, that is the actual title of the episode). Again, this will pretty much be like the previous live blogs, basically random comments throughout the episode and as usual as far as blogs go it will be all over the place, hope everybody enjoys it as usual.

6:57 PM: Some pre-show comments: first, Revenge of the Man Crab? that is the dumbest name for an episode ever, at least as far as Scooby episodes go, well there were a few Pup Named Scooby Doo episode titles were dumb, but that's neither here nor there, number two and last: very excited to read the info about the Hex Girls cameo in an August episode of SDMI and in addition... a Scooby Doo/Batman team up in Batman the Brave and the Bold! not too shabby Warner Brothers, not too shabby

7:00 PM: Show Time episode four!

7:00 PM: "I can't wait for the time when robots do everything for us", um, yeah sure lady, sure

7:01 PM: Trickell's Diet Liquid? Why does that sound like one of Phil Hendrie's creations for his Art Bell bits? I'm just saying

7:02 PM: Angel Dynamite returns! I'm on board

7:02 PM: Teenage Pebbles and Bam Bamm sighting! Nice cameo

7:03 PM: Is this guy obsessed with clams or what?

7:03 PM: Ladies and gentlemen Velma has officially become a nag, congratulations

7:04 PM: Oh boy, Velma's not happy with Shaggy is she?

7:04 PM: Was that the oldest girl from the Chan Clan?

7:05 PM: That is one messed up Crab Person; why am I now having South Park flashbacks?

7:06 PM: Angel Dynamite, the world's first DJ who trained under Walker Texas Ranger; of course that's just my opinion

7:11 PM: Why do Shaggy and Scooby always do the explanations of what the monster looked and sounded like?

7:11 PM: Okay, okay: they have a hideous Man Crab attacking volleyball players and kidnapping young women, and they don't close the beach? Crystal Cove might just have the dumbest law enforcement in the history of television or real life

7:12 PM: Fred said something sweer to Daphne? oookay

7:13 PM: Daphne playing volleyball? And Fred says nothing under than "What Man Crab would love to drag you under the sand"; jeez

7:14 PM: Jeez Daphne, get a grip

7:14 PM: That was hillarious! Daphne's dad, half naked sucking on a can of soup? Comedy Gold!

7:15 PM: This Man Crab can see unusually well, hmm...

7:16 PM: Fred's really taking Daphne being abducted, um... not very well; maybe he is in love with her

7:17 PM: another clue from Mr. E? the mystery thickens even deeper

7:17 PM: so she doesn't know the kids huh, yeah sure Angel; *whispers* I think she might have something to do with Mr. E

7:21 PM: The library, one of my favorite places (but don't tell anyone that)

7:22 PM: Fred GET A GRIP! Daphne liked to sit in chairs, Daphne liked to read books, I think he's in love with Daphne

7:23 PM: Back to the caves

7:23 PM: Secret stairs? ah, another clue

7:26 PM: Fred's trap worked; it figures

7:27 PM: the villain was someone who they didn't meet? I like it. totally unexpected

7:28 PM: Lawyers take forever? obviously you don't know or have never met Steve Bosell

7:29 PM: Hmm, Angel Dynamite looked pretty suspicious in that last shot, think she knows anything?

Well, another episode down and another blog done; overall on my scale with 10 being the best and 1 being the worst, I give this episode my first ten of the series; a little Shelma, a little Fraphne, the villain was unexpected, a clue from Mr. E. and a possible connection between the locket Daphne found and the missing children? all in all it leads up to a very interesting rest of the season for Scooby Doo fans; be back next Monday with another live blog, see ya then!

Scooby Doo Mystery Inc Episode 3 Review

Hello again; just updating a few things: I will be doing the live blog a little early today again, once again it will be random comments for the episode, and it will be kind of all over the place basically as far as blogs go.

6:46 PM: After watching the reruns of the first two episodes of Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. I have to say I really like the theme song and title sequence; the music reminds me a lot of the old soap opera Dark Shadows, kind of a really spooky/creepy vibe to it.

7:00 PM: Show Time for Episode 3!

7:00 PM: A Ghost Trucker? Anyone wish that Convoy by CW McCall was a chase scene song for this episode?

7:01 PM: That ghost truck was scaaary

7:02 PM: Crystal Cove's city hall building looks like something from the Southwest US

7:02 PM: Fred's dad wants him to get into Politics? Jeez

7:03 PM: Was Daphne humming the New Scooby Doo Movies theme?

7:03 PM: Rung Ladderton? Uh oh, looks like Fred's got some competition

7:04 PM: Cheating? Good friends? Yeah, sure

7:04 PM: Daphne's dad's jacket is.... interesting I guess, or is that a robe, i'm not sure

7:05 PM: There goes the copier

7:05 PM: Avocados? Ha Ha Ha!

7:05 PM: Missing diamond? Aha Mystery Time!

7:06 PM: The Clam Cabin? I guess that's a sea food place

7:06 PM: No door knob? Ooh, the plot gets intriguing

7:07 PM: Cue the the Price Is Right losing horns for Velma

7:07 PM: That ghost truck is still pretty creepy

7:08 PM: oh boy, cliff hangar going to commercial break

7:11 PM: Loudest and longest scream in TV history

7:12 PM: Is this ghost trucker moonlighting as a NASCAR driver?

7:12 PM: Ah yes, an appearance from Joe from Family Guy as the sheriff, who is freaking hillarious as usual

7:13 PM: A Ghost truck that leaves tire tracks? Hmm....

7:13 PM: Is Fred completely CLUELESS?

7:13 PM: The Bloody What? It would figure in a place like Crystal Cove that a restaurant would be ghost themed

7:14 PM: Trap time

7:14 PM: Angel Dynamite is back, nice!

7:15 PM: Fred's dad got caught in the trap, hillarious!

7:15 PM: wait, wait, they just left Fred's dad up there?

7:16 PM: The Bloody Stake? Best restaurant name ever!

7:16 PM: Ghost truck sighting, only it doesn't look ghostly

7:20 PM: Code Brown? Ha Ha Ha!

7:20 PM: Old truck, new tires, hmm...

7:20 PM: I love the chase scenes so far

7:21 PM: Scooby really seems, different in this episode, more talkative I guess

7:21 PM: Rung wears an ascot too? Jeez

7:22 PM: Lucky Ascot?

7:22 PM: Mr. E left them a Clue? Interesting

7:23 PM: Now that I think of it, Mr. E does sound like Lewis Black, great casting!

7:24 PM: "You're all the same in my eyes?" Fred, you dummy

7:24 PM: Secret passage, Bats flying, classic Scooby Doo at it's finest

7:24 PM: A Secret hangout? Good thinking Velma, I think

7:25 PM: So the Avacodos guy might be the ghost trucker, it figures

7:25 PM: Ghost trucker, stat! love that reference

7:26 PM: "Why doesn't this guy ever give up?" Take a guess Shaggy

7:26 PM: Great chase scene, reminds me of the Scooby Doo Where Are You episode with Zen Tuo

7:27 PM: It was Rung Ladderton? Dang, that was a surprise

7:28 PM: Disguising a Diamond as a Crystal Doorknob? Of course, it makes so much sense. seriously it does

7:28 PM: His company went broke? Um, okay; and because of that he tries to smuggle diamonds? Yeah sure

7:29 PM: Scooby Doo as the chief of Pizza Affairs? Nice

Well, that's it for this week; great episode altogether, didn't focus too much on Shelma, but there was a little in there, plus there was some major Fraphne time, sort of; all together I rate this episode as a 9 out of 10, not perfect but very close

Back next week for another live blog; remember to keep the words of Casey Kasem in your mind at all times: Keep Your Feet On The Ground and Keep Reaching For The Stars, until next Monday night, ciao!

Scooby Doo Mystery Inc Episode 2 Review

Hi again, I managed to catch last night's episode of Scooby Doo Mystery Incoporated "The Creeping Creatures", and the following is my review/blog of the episode; basically it will be a little different from a live blog, basically it will just be random thoughts I have about the episode, hopefully nobody minds and everybody enjoys it as usual.

I loved the mailman's reaction to getting caught in a Fred trap, I guess by the look on his face he's used to that sort of thing; the clincher though was the gang leaving Fred's house and getting caught in the trap.

Speaking of the trap, Traps Illustrated was awesome; "I just read it for the articles" LOL, yeah sure Fred, sure you do ;)

Those people in the car were completely dumb; "Are you sure this is New York?" and "Oh yeah, this is Broadway isn't it?", oh brother, how can people be that stupid

Gator Burg? Is that anywhere near the University Of Florida? Also, Velma's comment was priceless: "This is what happens when you base a civilization and economy entirely on gators", I guess nobody's told Velma about the University of Florida.

Shaggy, Shaggy, Shaggy, what are we going to do with you? "I never understand women", you and every man in America Shaggy

Mr. E sending the gang an imitation Gator Burg purse was interesting; he's starting to remind me a lot of Vincent Van Ghoul, only not as nice and working from the shadows, hey maybe he is the Shadow, do you think Mr. E's real name is Lamont Cranston?

Those gator burgers looked pretty nasty to me, I would not want to eat those; speaking of which, I would not want to get stranded in a place called Gator Burg overnight, or any time for that matter

Overall the parts of the episode that I saw reminded me a lot of the Gator Ghoul; although the gator creatures looked way more scary then the Gator Ghoul, on second thought it might be a tie
I must admit that stealing the Mystery Machine's engine is a great way to keep the gang in a scary place; i've seen some pretty interesting reasons for the gang to investigate a spooky place, like the radiator needing water, a flat tire, hitting a rock, etc. But stealing an engine? Wouldn't that be pretty heavy?

Great theme song and opening sequence for the show, it almost reminds me of the old soap opera Dark Shadows and it definitely gives the show a real creepy, spooky feeling to it

"Saved it for a rainy day?", jeez Mr. E either has a lousy sense of humor or he's really, really creepy

The Gator Wells? Gator Mines? How in the world can you mine gators?

Hey, a Galloping Ghost spotting in the flashback! Nice 70's HB Mystery reference

Sweet Christmas? Interesting phrase Velma, not as good as Jinkies, but still funny

"How about we go clue hunting Shaggy?"; Velma, you're going to have to try much harder to get through to Shaggy then that

Shaggy making his stomach talk, is both funny and very weird at the same time

"See that hole there, that's supposed to be an engine", no kidding Fred, no kidding

This mechanic definitely reminds me of Snakebite Scruggs from Scooby Doo on Zombie Island

Wait, wait, wait: Fred's dad, Daphne's mom and dad, Velma's folks and Shaggy's parents are all too busy to pick up their kids? Jeez, what neglectful parents, and what lousy excuses:
Fred's dad: My recliner is in the recline position, there's no going back? That's pretty lazy
Daphne's mom: I can't go walk in the dark? Jeez, what is she three?
Velma's mom: Our horse is in a race? Man, she better hope that horse wins or places so she can give Velma a large allowance next time around
Shaggy's folks: Still Life Night? Really? I mean come on!

The Drowsy Gator Inn? Where is the gang, Gator Burg or Gainesville, Florida?

WOW! The lights burning out in the hotel sign and saying "The Dog Dies", man that's straight out of Psycho; maybe this place is really the Bates Motel with a really good paint job

These Hotel owners are really creepy; plus their names are Greta and Gunther Gator? Gee, what a coincidence indeed

The hotel's sign is painted and it's broken? Sure it is

Hotel Owner: "Boys in girls in seperate rooms, no exceptions"
Velma: "Well Daphne, I guess i'm with you"
Hotel Owner: "I Said no exceptions!"
Velma: "But i'm a girl"
Hotel Owner: "Oh, so you are"
Did that hotel owner think Velma was a guy? That is freaking hillarious!

No Pets in the hotel? Dang, I feel really sorry for Scooby Doo right now

"I'm not a pet", again I feel sorry for Scooby Doo

"Stay in your rooms", yeah sure

Velma: "I forgot something", yeah sure Velma, you just want to hang out with Shaggy

A scrapbook of traps? Fred, you really are obsessed aren't you?

Man, the gators attacking Scooby Doo was pretty creepy; possibly one of the best scenes in a Scooby episode in a long time, considering that he was in real danger

Fred, Daphne and Scooby encountered the monster first? That's a twist

"There's no escape", Daphne, you have to think more positively

Shaggy and Velma were about to kiss but Scooby came in, oh well there's always the rest of the season, although it was a cute moment

These chase scenes are really well done, I must say

Shaggy saved Velma from the alligator, now that's bravery; I guess Shaggy doesn't always need a Scooby Snack to do something brave, maybe he just needs to see a girl he likes in danger, i.e. Velma

The alligator leg grabbing onto Velma and then Scooby saying "That's disgusting" is priceless

Fred: "Scooby, get behind the Wheel of the Mystery Machine"
Velma: "But it's broken"
Fred: "Which is exactly why we're going to push it!"
I guess that does make sense

Scooby driving the Mystery Machine? to quote the old Phil Hendrie Show: Comedy Gold!, although didn't he drive the Mystery Machine in a 1982 Scooby and Scrappy episode? Wait, that was him with Shaggy's brain, never mind

Suprisingly enough, Scooby's actually a good driver, I mean for a dog

"They weren't trying to eat us, they just wanted us out of town", well no kidding!

All the gator products are fake? Well I could have figured that out

Fred's trap was pretty simple, but pretty genius when you think about it

"Who are you calling a crocodile?" hillarious

Colt 45? I love that reference

The gator creatures were the mechanic, the hotel owner and her son? Well Duh! I could have figured that out

The Creeping Creatures? Ah, that explains the title of the episode

Shaggy explaining that their plan was dumb was pretty awesome, he actually can think of stuff on his own and he is pretty smart

Gunther Gator must be a reincarnated Dexter from Dexter's Labaratory, because that was the most complicated "And I would have gotten away with it..." ever

Sheriff: "I paid a fortune for this track suit", awesome, also "Get this stuff off me, this fake gator doesn't breathe", and of course: "Arrest them, even though I have no juristiction here!", man that sheriff really likes his job

Wait, wait, wait, Mr. E actually brought back the engine? Hmm, maybe this guy isn't as bad as I thought

"This is only one piece of the puzzle, there are more mysteries to come"? Man, this is really getting good now, although was there a clue revealed as to the curse of Crystal Cove or not?

And finally: Shaggy taking Velma's hand and the two of them looking at each other's eyes after Shaggy and Scooby shivered in fright was pretty sweet; I have to say I am really liking the Shelma so far

Well, that's it; overall the episode was decent, some great horror moments, some great humor, although there was a bit of a downer when it came to the mystery; overall on a scale of 1-10, 1 being the worst, 10 being the best, I give it a 7, not as good as last week's premiere, but still decent, I docked it a couple points for the mystery and the bad guys motives for comitting their crime.

Looking forward to next week which should be another good one; hopefully i'll get to do a live blog next Monday, and until then to quote Casey Kasem: "Keep Your Feet on the Ground and keep Reaching for the stars", and of course "Keep Your Computer right where it is", well okay it was "Keep your radio tuned right where it is" but I paraphrased.

Spring/Summer Football

As I mentioned in a previous blog post, I am going to attempt to write about things that I am a fan of subjects that I am knowledgeable about like sports and pop culture; to inagurate this new era for the blog(okay, I might be a bit silly with that comment, but oh well) I am going to write about a subject I know a lot about: sports.

To me sports(like writing about and watching Scooby Doo) is a great escape from the news every so often, no matter if it is current or classic, and speaking of classic that's kind of where i'll start off this blog.

Back in the mid 70's there was a professional football league called the World Football League, now it was a decent league but it had a few problems: one, they didn't get a national TV network contract so the games ended up on TVS, a "network" of stations owned by former Chicago White Sox owner and television executive Eddie Einhorn; the reason I say network in quotation marks is because it was actually a syndicator that distributed sporting events to stations around the country, similar to what distributors like ESPN Plus and Lincoln Financial Sports(formerly Raycom Sports) do today; TVS also worked with the NBC Television Network to produce college basketball games for said network for many years as well and some of their games are available for viewing online; now while TVS got decent clearance for the games, it wasn't ABC, CBS, or NBC, which is why they failed.

Two, inflated attendence figures: for a few weeks in the 1974 WFL season the league's teams claimed outlandish attendance numbers, like 60 or 70,000 for games in Philly or New York for example, when in reality only about 3 or 4,000 people attended a regular season game, which didn't help them a lot either.

Three, salaries and players: the WFL signed stars from the NFL such as Larry Csonka and Jim Kiick of the Miami Dolphins, which is probably the worst thing a league who's trying to compete against the NFL could do.

And Four, unstable franchises and teams: in the WFL teams would move in mid season or in places where there was an NFL caliber stadium, such as Detroit or New York, the WFL would have to play in high school or local college which meant that on occasion play and attendence suffered for the league's franchises; all those reasons are why the WFL lasted only a season and a half before folding.

In 1983, another league tried to get a piece of the pro football pie and it was known as the USFL, or United States Football League; this league succeeded for a while before falling in the same trap as the WFL, it tried to compete with the NFL by signing star college players and players that the NFL wouldn't touch, such as the late Reggie White, Herschel Walker, Doug Flutie and others, the final nails in the USFL's coffin however were two fold: when Donald Trump bought the New Jersey Generals, and then the league's owners decided to play in the fall, against the NFL; needless to say that was the end of that and after a trial, folded.

Two other attempts for spring and summer football were made as well; one was the World League of American Football, which later became NFL Europe and was sanctioned by the NFL; the other, well the other was the Canadian Football League's attempt to add US teams, which failed after three years; I say the CFL is spring/summer football because the league starts in the summer.

While the Arena Football League folded and then came back, and the United Football League began last year, I don't really consider those spring/summer football leagues because one is indoors and plays with different rules and the other plays in the fall, much like the WFL did for a year and a half(at least for part of the season), and the USFL tried to do; therefore I feel that it is time to found a new football league that would play in the spring and summer.

I actually came up with an idea for a new league a while back, it's called the North American Football League and would play in a few places that the Arena Football League and Arena Football 2 played in a few years back; some of the places the AFL and AF2 played in were major cities and have outdoor stadiums that could concievably be used for football; however there are a few problems with my idea.

One: trying to convince people that football could be played in the spring and summer; sure there's Major League Baseball, the WNBA, MLS and NBA and NHL playoffs as well as tennis and golf events throughout both seasons, however in my opinion there's never a thing as too much football.

Two: players and salaries; each league that I mentioned had problems with signing players that were NFL caliber and that the NFL wanted, however the USFL for example signed most of them first; now there are still players that are NFL caliber, but can't get jobs in the league. Even though there are the CFL and Arena Football and now the UFL, that still leaves a ton of players that could still play football and want to play football professionally, which is why a league like this could still work, especially with a possible NFL lockout in a couple years.

Three: television; this might be a bit easier then previous attempts at spring football, considering the changes that have happened in TV sports in the past decade; several broadcast networks and various cable networks would love football of any kind and this is where the NAFL could work.

That's about it for now, I may post again about a possible divisional alignment for the league, but that's for another time I guess; bye for now and i'll be back again with another blog post, same time, same website.

Summer Update

Sorry it's been so long since i've posted on here, i'll try and write here more often; actually i've kind of neglected the blog because i've been working on other projects like my Scooby fan fiction.

By the way, i've been thinking about posting some of them on here and maybe including links to my Fan Fiction.net account; if anyone would like that you can post a comment on here and I will read them and take them into consideration.

Also i've been thinking about posting more about my areas of expertise(or fandom as the case may be), like sports, pop culture, TV, Scooby Doo, etc.; actually I probably will do that(of course it might be most of the postings i've done on message boards, but what the heck); thank you to everyone for reading my blog and posting comments on here, see yea soon :)

Scooby Doo Fan Fiction Updates

Just figured I would let everybody know who is interested in my writing progress: So far I have completed or am working on 19 different fan fiction pieces, all of which are up on my fan fiction.net account. I have finished my versions of all 13 of the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo episodes without Scrappy and with Fred and Velma, I am working on re-writes or retellings of Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost, Scooby Doo and the Goblin King, Scooby Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf and Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School.

BTW, for number one, it's a sequel to one of my other fics and I think it will turn out great; for number two, I thought the ending was bad and basically the entire movie was not that great so I am re-writitng it, for number three and four I have taken out the characters of Googie and Scrappy and replaced them with Fred, Daphne and Velma.

Make sure and visit my fan fiction.net account which is Scoobyfan1, I love getting reviews and advice and love to write as well, and reviews and advice really help me in my writing.

My Review of Scooby Doo Mystery Inc.

Well, after a long wait the new Scooby Doo cartoon series is on the air; it had a sneak preview/premiere on April 5th and it officially debuts during the summer on Cartoon Network. After hearing and reading a lot of things about the show, i've decided to do a blog on it, so here goes: For the most part I liked the sneak peek and I think the series is going to be very good.

There are plenty of things about the series that I wanted to talk about, so i'll go through them one by one:

First off, the animation: the animation style for this series kind of had an anime look to it(like Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon for example); it was a little similar to Shaggy and Scooby Doo Get A Clue, but considering that series was one of the worst Scooby series ever and this I think will be one of the best, I didn't mind it.

Next, the apperance of the gang's parents, excluding Scooby's of course: Fred's father, both of Daphne's folks, Velma's folks and Shaggy's parents all appeared; but each of them weren't the same as their last appearances. Daphne's folks looked a little different from when they appeared in an episode of the All-New Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show in 1983, but they were a little like when they appeared in PNSD. Fred's parents appeared in SD Pirate's Ahoy but the only one to appear her was Fred's dad and he was the mayor of the town where the series takes place, interesting that his mother didn't make an appearance although maybe that's part of the mystery. Velma's parents were interesting and were a little like they were in past appearances, although one of my favorite moments was after Velma talking about the past villains and that they were fake at the beginning of the show and as a result her parents trying to avoid her saying something that might cost her parents their jobs. Shaggy's parents were interesting and there was a huge suprise in that Casey Kasem the long time voice of Shaggy(who has since retired from voice acting and radio) is the voice of Shaggy's father; IMO that is a fantastic way to transition from Casey to someone else, in this case Matthew Lillard who played the character in the live action movies and voiced the character in SD Abracadabra Doo(which BTW if you have not seen, you should rent or buy it, it is outstanding).

Next the plot and series idea in general: with a continuing story arc now, it reminded me a lot of the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo(as far as the continuing storyline) and the old soap opera Dark Shadows(with all the mysteries happening in and around one general town or area, in this case Crystal Cove). Actually it reminded me a lot of a modern version of the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo(without Scrappy, Flim Flam and Vincent Van Ghoul, with other characters replacing them and with Fred and Velma as well as Daphne who was in the 13 Ghosts series). Actually I still feel if they had done that series with Fred and Velma and no Scrappy they would have done just fine, hopefully this series lasts longer than 13 Ghosts and judging by the fact that 19 episodes were ordered it looks like it(knock on wood).

Next the name of the town: they renamed Coolsville into Crystal Cove apparently, which is cool; actually Crystal Cove sounds more realistic then Coolsville anyway.

The way the gang looked was interesting, they were all back in pretty much their original outfits and Velma had a bow in her hair, which suited her nicely, actually she looked pretty cute with it on.

The locals not wanting the gang to solve mysteries was an interesting plot twist, although everybody seems to not like the fact that the sheriff of the town(voiced by Patrick Warburton, the voice of Joe on Family Guy; btw, considering what Joe's occupation is in that show, it's a funny coincidence that he would voice a town sheriff). In the past, all police departments really don't like the fact that amateur sleuths attempt to solve cases that the police would usually handle, although in the past Scooby and company were well liked by law enforcement, but it's a little different here, which is a bit different.

Now we get to something a lot of people like: the romance, specifically that Shaggy and Velma re now Dating! That's right, their dating; I like it as well as the Fred and Daphne romantic moments and I think the writers and producers of the show are finally listening to what the fans want and I definitely think both couples have much potential.

Speaking of the writers, I think they have finally managed to get all the characters down by combining the classic feel of the series and updating it just enough to make fans of all ages happy.

I thought the feel of the show was great, and it felt like Scooby Doo on Zombie Island/SD Abracadabra Doo; I really think the show has a great combination dark, spooky atmosphere for the mystery part of the show and great well written comedic and romantic moments to make it a worthy addition to the Scooby franchise.

Considering the number of episodes that are going to be in this season, the writing and the plot and characters, the show reminds me of something that a major network could air in primetime(now that's an idea that could work).

Overall, this show looks to be a great addition to the franchise, and the cliff-hangar that ended the pilot is a great way to build suspense for the show's full premiere during the summer; the Mr.E character that called the gang at the end of the show has the potential to be like Vincent Van Ghoul from the 13 Ghosts series, that is someone who can help the gang but from behind the scenes without revealing his indentity; I think it will be talked about by fans of the show until the show begins airing again and has the potential to be a great cliff-hangar on the level of Who Shot J.R.? or Who Shot Mr. Burns more recently.

There were many references to Scooby's past, like Shaggy saying that he enjoys watching Vincent Van Ghoul movies and the appearances of some of the old school SD villains at the beginning of the show(Captain Cutler's ghost/Spooky Space Kook/Miner 49er/Charlie The Robot). Although considering Velma wasn't around for the 13 Ghosts show, I was expecting her to say "Who?" when Shaggy said that.

Apparently from what it seemed like in the show, all the gang's parents(not just Daphne's) are wealthy, I mean how else do you explain living in a seaside community like the one in the show. There were no musical chase scenes(which was a major plus) and was reminiscent of the 1st season of Scooby Doo Where Are You? Having no theme was unusual too, but I guess that will change from now to when the show debuts in the summer.

Overall, I am looking forward to seeing the show air in the summer and out a scale of 1-10, with 10 the best and 1 the worst, I have to give it a 9 1/2; I would give it a 10 but I want to hold back until some things are answered; like for example: who's Mr. E? and what's up with that locket Daphne found? Does the locket have something to do with the town's past? Were the gang's folks mystery solving teens back in the day, as some people have been saying? What about Fred's mother, where is she? Naturally of course all those things should be answered on the next episode of Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, which airs in the summer.
